Hello Striders and friends:

NEW Sign up for the Community Unity Run to be held on Oct. 5, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. It starts at the South end of Veterans Park-by the flagpoles.  The Community Unity Run is a 2.62 mile run, walk or jog that will be fun for the whole family. The purpose of this race is to get Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon spectators, families, friends and supporters of our youth to raise some money for two organizations who have devoted their time and energy in helping our Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon kids program called "I Can 26.2 It!. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to: Girls on the Run of Greater Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Police Department Endurance Club.

All ages and family groups (YES, we have a family price!) are welcomed at the "Community Unity" Run.  The course is right next to the shores of Lake Michigan, around the Veteran Park lagoon and into the same finishers chute as the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon runners will be going through soon after your event. Your participation in this FUN event supports and encourages the youth of our community to live healthy, active and fun lives which leads to self-empowerment, respect, physical health, confidence, healthy camaraderie and so much more.  Please join us in building a strong community one youth at a time.

Female runners aged 18 to 40 are needed for a study on knee pain. Carroll University is looking for people with and without knee pain. You will be compensated with $25 in gift cards for your time. This also comes with a free 3D Computerized Running Analysis ($250 value). Click here for information if you have knee pain. If you are pain-free, active and healthy, click here for more information.
