Click here for the results of the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon.

Nick End and Melissa Gacek won the marathon. Nick End finished with a time of 2:27:31 and Melissa Gacek had a time of 2:54:52. Nick, who originally competed in cross-country and track at Shorewood High School, now lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Melissa grew up in Kenosha, but now lives in a northern suburb of the Twin Cities.

Female runners aged 18 to 40 are needed for a study on knee pain. Carroll University is looking for people with and without knee pain. You will be compensated with $25 in gift cards for your time. This also comes with a free 3D Computerized Running Analysis ($250 value). Click here for information if you have knee pain. Featured Event

Our monthly meeting will be held this Wednesday night, Nov. 19th, at 7 p.m. at the Pettit National Ice Center. The Pettit Center is located at 500 S 84th St in West Allis, just off I-94 at 84th St.

There will be a pre-meeting run on the indoor track at 5:30 p.m, followed by a social time before the meeting in the conference room at 7 p.m. The business meeting is held at 8 p.m. Admission is only $1 for everyone.

This month's speaker is Jill Sommers, owner of Move2Live coaching. She is passionate about helping people reach their goals by utilizing an undeveloped tool - the mind. Attend this motivational presentation filled with inspiring video, energy-raising music and running tips that will help you win the mental battles of your marathon, your work tasks or tackling your home improvement projects.

2014 Indoor 20K & 10K Runs

20K - 7:30 am start (2.5 hr limit)
10K - 11 am start

Online (120 runner per heat capacity or Nov 30, 2014)
    $20 + 1 unwrapped toy (donated to Toys for Tots) – for the 20K OR the 10K
    $35 + 1 unwrapped toy (donated to Toys for Tots) – for BOTH the 20K AND the 10K
Race day at Pettit National Ice Center (if capacity is not met)
   $30 + 1 unwrapped toy (donated to Toys for Tots) for the 20K OR the 10K
   $50 + 1 unwrapped toy (donated to Toys for Tots) – for BOTH the 20K AND the 10K

Perks: Long sleeve cotton shirts for pre-registered participants, water stop and restrooms on the course, as well as snacks and beverages after the event.  Oh yes, and a flat and fast course, race day temperatures guaranteed in the 50’s, with zero percent chance of rain, snow, sleet, hail, or other nasty weather conditions.

Top three overall male and female in each heat.  Age group awards will be given to the top male and female in each age group: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over.
